Brennan appointed to Hydes finance role
Manchester-based Hydes Brewery has appointed Claire Brennan as financial controller. Brennan joins the family-run business from Littlewoods in Liverpool, where she held a senior post in financial planning and analysis. In her new role, Brennan will head up the finance team for the business, reporting to financial director Adam Hyde.
She said: "I was attracted to Hydes on two levels. Firstly, as it remains a progressive family-owned company, I will have the opportunity to really get involved in all aspects of the business. Secondly, as a member of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) for five years, it is fantastic to be able to combine my work life with a passion for the product involved."
Punch BRM to beef up support in north-west
Punch Taverns has appointed a key new figure in its campaign to champion and support pubs in the north-west. Mike Gardner, previously a catering executive with Punch, will take on the new role of business relationship manager (BRM), supporting pubs in Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire.
Gardner will report to operations manager Sally Wilson and will work closely with 58 licensees across the north-west. He joined Punch in August 2007 in the role of catering executive, helping pubs to improve their food offer. He began his career with Whitbread hotels in the north and more recently worked for Enterprise Inns running his own pub and restaurant in Cumbria.
Gardner said: "The BRM role is all about forging strong relationships with licensees and I'm delighted to have the chance to help them build up their businesses. I bring my own experience of running a pub as well as my background in catering."
GA-Select names new business manager
Property firm GA-Select has announced that it is strengthening its internal sales team with the appointment of a new business manager. Managing director Graham Allman has appointed Cheryl Marson to the position at the agent's head offices in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.
Marson will be joining the existing well-known team, focusing on getting new instructions to market within 24 hours of receiving them. She will also co-ordinate with field-based sales directors to ensure service quality standards are met and maintained.
Fischer made sales director at DDG
Drinks Dispense Group has appointed Neil Fischer to the new position of sales director. The company, based in Chesterfield, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality drinks dispense and bar equipment to the leisure and hospitality industries.
Fischer will be responsible for sales and marketing of the company's products across the UK. He has worked for Drinks Dispense Group since 2005 and was previously its general sales manager. He said: "I am looking forward to my new role within the company and being a part of its continued growth."
