Blanc's TV winners quit pub

The winners of Raymond Blanc's TV series, The Restaurant, have quit the Thatch, in Thame, Oxfordshire. Jeremy and Jane Hooper took over in November 2007, but now say they can not carry on because their dining concept didn't fit with the pub. It will now be run by Peach Pub Company.

Three Wishes buys Tattershall pub

The Tattershall Castle Group has sold the Goodwill to All pub, in Harrow, to Terry O'Sullivan, the owner of the Three Wishes Group, for an undisclosed sum. The freehold site, located in Middlesex, covers around 27,000sq ft.

Long-closed inn bought for £310k

A Northumberland pub at the centre of a nine-year planning battle is set to re-open its doors next month after being bought by a local brewery boss. Jim Hick, owner of the Allendale brewery, bought the Crown Inn, in Catton, for £310,000. The pub was due to be redeveloped.

Carling heads for the Wild West

Carling has launched a Wild West-themed advert as part of a £14m campaign. "Rescue" builds on previous adverts, featuring five mates, which aim to position the brand as "Britain's most sociable pint". It highlights the gang's loyalty as they rescue a mate trapped at the tea party from hell.
