Salisbury launches new pub concept
Paul Salisbury, the entrepreneur who helped develop Mitchells & Butlers' Project S premium country dining concept, has launched a new concept in Solihull called The Farm.
The site is a Mitchells & Butlers pub which he has taken on a lease under their franchise division. The Farm, which was opened in August, is now taking between £45,000 and £50,000-a-week with an offer Salisbury describes as "posh Harvester".
The Farm offers a double-centred experience. The pub, known as The Inn at the Farm is "a place of paired back simplicity with a Scandinavian feel", serving "simple and delicious" bar food, from 12noon to 7pm.
The Food at the Farm, offers traditional rustic dishes in a rugged environment comfortably seating around 90 people.
Decor includes a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, wine prison, rough hewn bark, steel drinks bar, and grain oak floor.
The menu is a mix of traditional British dishes alongside modern European ideas using best quality meats, seafoods and local produce. The Farm also has an up-market salad bar.
The Farm offers "Happy Drinking and Happy Eating" from Monday to Friday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, offering 25% off all the menu prices, house champagne at £15.00 per bottle and house wine at £10.00 per bottle.
There is a late licence to 1am, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with music.
Salisbury said: "It was one of the Allied Domecq flagships and M&B didn't know what do with it because they have an Ember Inn about 1.5 miles away. We intend to do a few of them."
Salisbury and his business partner Paul Hales have opened around 50 Project S pubs in partnership with M&B.
