Sky's the limit for new Chef & Brewer menu
Chef & Brewer is to launch its new menu by releasing balloons with free meal tags attached.
Each of the 130 venues will be releasing 50 union jack balloons in an attempt to set a new Guinness world record.
The new menu - which is live now - includes British 35-day matured beef for all steaks and burgers. The menu's focus is on traditional pub fare, fresh ingredients and locally sourced produce wherever possible. Dishes include Scottish salmon Wellington; beef and Bombardier pie; British lamb shepherds pie; free range thick cut pork chops with Tewksbury mustard and Cheddar sauce and Lincolnshire roast turkey for Sunday roast.
The new menu also features monthly changing wine specials. Canon du Marechal Voignier and Merlot will be available in November, with a Windsor Vineyards Sparkling Shiraz in time for Christmas.
Nick Chadwick manager of the Bridge, Shawford, Winchester said: "The new menu is a real tribute to good British food, we have some fantastic dishes which will really compliment the warmth of the pub this winter - they will really impress the regular diners.
"The balloon lift is a really exciting way to launch the menu, I hope that we get some new customers in on the back of it and get our name in the Guinness book of records!"
