Many MA readers will be aware of the Licen-sed Trade Charity (LTC) and how the organisation assists those who work in the drinks trade sector in a variety of ways. A lesser-known fact is that the LTC owns and runs two very good independent schools: the Elvian School in Reading and the Licensed Victuallers' School in Ascot, both in Berkshire.
Knowing that the Christmas period is a busy time for those working in the trade, especially licensees, the LTC is hosting a Christmas Activity Camp at the Licensed Victuallers' School.
The Christmas Activity Camp will run from Wednesday 19 December to midday on Saturday 22 December, where children aged seven to 13 years will be able to take part in a jam-packed activity schedule. The camp will also offer boarding facilities over the four days.
Is your child a sports superstar? Are they fanatical about football or bonkers about basketball? Or how about an aspiring artist looking to express their creativity and become a film producer or Turner Prize winner of the future? Whatever their passion, the Christmas Activity Camp will have an activity to suit most children's hobbies and interests.
The LTC is offering a 50% discount on the package rate to those working in the licensed trade including bar staff, licensees, and those working for a brewery or drinks supplier.
The camp, which costs just £99 including discount, or £199 for those paying the full rate, includes meals, all activities taking place
during the four days and boarding facilities at the school.
In order to qualify for the discount, one of the child's parents' main job must in the licensed trade.
Marketing director Liz Gaffer said: "The charity recognises that the lead-up to Christmas is an extremely busy time for licensees. The LTC is keen to offer a solution to keeping their children occupied while they are working over the festive period.
"This is the first time we've run such an event - and we are looking forward to hosting what we're sure will be a fabulous four days."
"We've designed the camp to make sure the children have an incredible time during their stay. It's the perfect opportunity for kids to meet new friends and make the most of the facilities available at the school, which are second to none."
