Hobsons Brewery steps up production of its champion beer Hobson's Mild to cope with increased demand

Hobsons Brewery has stepped up production of Hobsons Mild to cope with increased demand after it was crowned Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival.

Nick Davis, managing director at Hobsons Brewery, said: "We're thrilled, I was there on the day and I just couldn't believe it. We've had a significant increase in orders from new and existing customers, we'll have to be a bit selective but I think we'll be able to keep up."

The Shropshire based brewer extended its facilities in April this year and the monthly barralage is now approximately 500.

The 3.2% abv beer is described by Hobsons as a "smooth dark mild."

The win is a welcome shot in the arm for the 'mild' sector.

Other brewers, such as Refresh, which brews Mann's, may well benefit from the Hobson's triumph.
