Hobsons Mild has been crowned the 2007 Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF).
The beer beat off stiff competition from contenders from all over the country to gain the prestigious title, which was judged by a panel of expert judges including Hamish Champ, city editor of The Publican and John Porter, The Publican's pub food editor.
Mighty Oak Maldon Gold, winner in the Golden Ales category, was awarded second place overall, and third place went to Green Jack Ripper, which won the Winter Ale category earlier this year.
The GBBF runs until Saturday at Earl's Court in London.
