A children's cookery writer is launching a range of healthy ready meals for pubs.
Annabel Karmel MBE is launching in September a range of four main meals and two desserts suitable for foodservice and pubs and developed by Creative Foods, the manufacturing business of Brakes. The launch follows on from Karmel's Eat Fussy range for retail.
New menus will be offered twice a year. The response to the range has already been very positive with one restaurant group already agreeing to put them on their menus.
Karmel said: "Giving children a healthy meal that tastes good and is of a high quality is most important. If the child does not like the taste of the food, the parents will not return to that venue with the child. My recipes are all tested on children and are guaranteed to tempt even the fussiest of eaters."
"My menu gives children the type of food they like to eat but with a healthy twist. For example my Bolognese is made from lean fresh Irish beef and has five vegetables hidden inside the sauce and my strawberry and rhubarb crumble is bursting with fruit and contains one portion of fruit."
Andrew Underwood, commercial director at Creative Foods said: "It is a huge endorsement of Creative Foods expertise to have Annabel Karmel choosing it to develop her recipes into pre-prepared meals for caterers. It has been a fantastic challenge for the development team here, working with Annabel and creating her recipes into meals that can be easily prepared by the caterer."
