Heineken UK has today announced the appointment of David Forde, as the new managing director for the Dutch-brewer's UK business.

David, aged 39, was previously director of commercial development for Heineken International, based in the Netherlands.

Since the introduction of premium continental Heineken, the UK team has done a tremendous job growing HeinekenDavid Forde.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining Heineken UK at such an exciting time. I'm looking forward to building on the excellent progress already made in driving the new premium continental positioning for the Heineken brand in the UK market, supported by the multi-million pound marketing campaign launched this summer.

Originally from Galway in Ireland, David joined Heineken Ireland nearly twenty years ago in 1988.

After working his way up in sales, David moved into marketing and brand management, before moving to the Netherlands to take on an international marketing role at Heineken's head-office.

David's career then took him to Poland for 3 years where he worked as marketing director.

Returning to The Netherlands in 2000, he took up the post of director of portfolio development for Heineken International and two and a half years later was appointed to his most recent role as director of commercial development for the organisation, globally.
