Foodservice company 3663's own brand products now carry detailed micronutrient information on all 762 of its products.
Customers will be able to find out the vitamin and mineral content of their purchases as well as the standard allergy and diet information, and energy, carbohydrate, protein, fat and sodium breakdowns.
The 3663 advice centre will also provide information to customers detailing whether a product has been fried during the manufacture process and whether it contains wheat. Product information including meat, fish and fibre content will also be available from the advice centre.
Nicky Dixey 3663 product brand manager said: "Putting together nutritionally balanced menus is becoming increasingly important, particularly within education and healthcare where diets to assist with growth, development and repair are essential. At 3663 we are committed to giving our customers the choice and we want to be proactive in providing detailed information to make sure customers know our products meet their needs.
"In healthcare specifically, the standard of patient food has become one of the major priorities within hospitals in recent years. The relationship between good nutrition and speedier recuperation has been highlighted, with vitamins and minerals playing a big part in the recovery process. And in education, there are currently regulations that restrict the availability of some products such as deep-fried and manufactured meat products, and promote the provision of other products such as fruit, vegetables and oily fish. New legislation to be introduced in 2008/2009 will enforce the provision of more nutritionally balanced menus in schools, and to do this more detailed nutrition information, such as the vitamin and mineral contents we at 3663 are providing, will be required."
3663's advice centre is on hand to provide customers with detailed product information and answer any allergy and ingredient related questions.
