The Licensed Trade Charity has offered aid to the licensees who have been victims in the floods affecting many parts of the country.

The organisation, committed to helping those who are currently employed or retired from the licensed drinks trade, is asking those who have been affected by the recent floods to contact them for assistance.

Liz Gaffer, director of marketing & charity srvices, said: "We are appealing to those who have been affected by the flooding to give us a call if they are in need of assistance and we will endeavour to help them in any way we can.

"For example, we may be able to assist employees who work in a pub which has been closed due to flooding and offer them short-term solutions in paying their bills.

"Another way which we could help, based on certain criteria, is to pay for accommodation for those who have been evacuated from their home or pub and are financially strapped.

"We want those who have worked in the licensed trade or those who have retired from it to consider us and to bear in mind that when the flooding and water is gone, there is an organisation which is here to help, the Licensed Trade Charity."

If you think we can help you and your family or someone you know, please give us a call on 01344 884440 (helpline open 9-5.30, Monday to Friday).

All applications are considered individually and some criteria will apply.
