Sky has extended the deadline on its Football+ offer until June 22, it was announced today.
The broadcaster is offering to freeze pubs' current subscription rates until September 2008 if they additionally sign-up to its new Football + package, which replaces Prem Plus.
The original deadline for licensees to sign up to the package was the end of May, but has now been extended.
New content has been added to the Football+ package since it was first unveiled in April, Sky revealed.
In addition to 46 Premiership matches and 60 Scottish Premier League matches, among the package will be the Setanta Golf Channel, live European football, Conference football and Magners league rugby.
Licensees wanting to screen Monday night Premiership football will have to sign-up to Football+, as it will no longer be part of the basic package.
Under the deal, licensees will still have to pay extra to get Football +, the same rate as Prem Plus, but will get a 20 per cent discount on the original price.
However a number of publicans were unconvinced by the offer, when it was first announced.
A spokeswoman for Sky said: "Football+ provides licensees with the opportunity to benefit from fantastic additional content including Monday night Premiership football and US PGA Tour Golf, which is only available to domestic customers if they pay for a Setanta subscription."
Asked why the deadline had been extended, she said that Sky had been looking to secure the rights to the extra content for a while. "We thought if we are adding this new content, then it's only fair to extend the deadline," she added.
