Prime Minister in waiting Gordon Brown and Labour Party chairman Hazel Blears have been sent personal invitations to a fundraiser for Smoke Free Manchester.
The Manchester Pub and Club Network has invited the pair to its Last Drag event.
If they choose to take up the invitation they will be joined by licensees from across Manchester, city council officials and police at an open air roof top garden to show their support for a new smoke free city.

Andrew O'Dwyer chair of the Manchester Pub and Club Network and director of Pure Space Cafe bar said: "Manchester is a leading UK city and as such we should be the ones to set an example.
"Licensees are aware that if a smoke free city is to work in the North West then they need to be right behind the campaign from the outset and let their customers know they will not tolerate breaking the law."
Cllr Pat Karney, director of Smoke Free Greater Manchester said: "We have to be ready to implement this legislation across Greater Manchester from Sunday 1st July and this will help us start saving people from smoking related diseases.
"We are one of the smoking capitals of the UK and we bury 14 people everyday because of smoking related diseases. We want the young people of Greater Manchester to grow up in a Smoke Free world.
"Myself and the Smoke Free team will be on hand to listen and answer any questions or concerns on the night."
