Whitby Seafoods has launched two new luxury fish cakes - Thai cod and cod and pancetta. Both products are made with freshly-prepared potato pieces and can be served as a starter or a main.
The product can be fried from frozen in nine minutes or oven baked in 17 to 20 minutes. The 80g Thai fish cakes come in batches of 16.
The cod and pancetta cakes weigh 80g also and come in cases of 25.
Sales and marketing director Laura Troughton says: "The new fish cakes are a superior-quality product for chefs to have ready to cook from frozen."
Serving ideas include starters of Thai fish cakes with a rocket salad and sweet chilli dip, or cod and pancetta fish cakes on a bed of green leaves with a pot of creamy hollandaise sauce.
Mains include Thai fish cakes with soy-dressed greens and a wedge of lime.

Scholler Ice Cream has launched a new menu-maker system to offer licensees discounts and better service.
Scholler's Sweet Success offers a personalised table-top menu, featuring the licensee's choice of desserts. Thanks to a new menu preparation system, the menus are now 40% cheaper and can be delivered twice as fast. Once approved on screen, the menu can be printed and delivered within seven days, priced at £75 for 20 menus.
Scholler managing director Mike Godwin says: "Our sales team will work through each stage of the menu on screen and the customer will be able to see how each page looks before committing to a particular layout. It's much quicker than the current paper-based system and, more importantly, much cheaper for the customer.

Enjoy a saucy summer
Tracklements is rolling out a range of summer sauces that can be used for marinating or serving alongside summer dishes. The range features a spicy barbecue sauce, tomato and pepper ketchup, and sweet mustard ketchup.
The spicy barbecue sauce can be used with barbecued meats as well as in sauces and soups. It is made with tomatoes, cider vinegar, lemon, garlic and a variety of spices.
The tomato and pepper ketchup is made from fresh red peppers and chillies. It can be used as a marinade for white meat and fish, or a table sauce to serve with fish and chips.
The sweet mustard ketchup can be used to baste sausages and pork chops as well as a dip or sandwich addition. The sauces contain no artificial colours or preservatives and are made in small batches by hand, using only the highest quality ingredients.
