Red Bull pilots take flight
Red Bull is bringing a new type of motor sports to London for the first time this
summer. The Red Bull Air Race World Series will bring some of the world's best pilots to the UK to battle for supremacy of the skies, racing just metres above the River Thames on 28 and 29 July.
It will be the first time an event of this
nature has taken place in the capital and pilots will fly at speeds close to 250mph.
The London Air Race, which will be a totally carbon-neutral event, has the backing of the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, as well as the Metropolitan Police and follows similar events in Rio de Janeiro.
JDW goes for Etalon
JD Wetherspoon has made Weissbier Etalon available in its pubs following the Ukrainian wheat beer's success in the off-trade. Weissbier Etalon is made with a special yeast that gives it a deep golden colour, and a creamy head.
Steve Holt, managing director for importer Vertical Drinks, said: "It's one of the finest Bavarian-style wheat beers in the world. Etalon has been very popular through Tesco, and now Wetherspoon gives us our first
significant on-trade presence. We are
confident that once their customers try this beer they will keep coming back for more."
Brahma backs awards
Brahma is to sponsor the
London Club & Bar Awards, recognising the best of London's nightlife across 16 categories.
Ken Valledy, marketing manager at InBev UK, said: "Brahma has unrivalled appeal to a generation of trendsetters. The sponsorship will build the profile of the brand in the club environment as it continues to build distribution and sales in this important trading sector."
The awards, now in their 13th year, will take place on 5 June.
