Ten BII members have been awarded the body's highest accolade for their contribution to the industry at a ceremony in London today.
Award-winning licensees Ali Carter and Richard and Jacqui Macey were among those made BII Companion Members at the BII's annual luncheon attended by around 1,000 people at the Grosvenor House.
Companion Membership (CMBII) is the highest accolade for BII members who have made an outstanding contribution to BII and to the industry as a whole.
This full list was:
• Marcus Harborne and Carolyn McFarlan from the world of licensed retail training. Marcus is also the secretary of BII Thames Valley region.
• Suzanne Nolan, rewarded for her work in the Wessex Region.
• Vicky Crossingham, human resources manager at St Austell Brewery, who was instrumental in the company achieving the first BII NITAs Supreme Award. The award reflected the positive impact St Austell Brewery has made in the local community.
• Richard and Jacqui Macey, 2006 BII Licensees of the Year, for their hard work in promoting the licensed retail sector as a valuable career path and work in social responsibility.
• Ali Carter, previous winner of BII Licensee of the Year, for her inspirational work in widely promoting the sector.
• Peter Grieve and Francis Patton, long serving BII National Council members.
Colin Wheeler from the Licensed Victuallers School was awarded an Honorary Companion Membership.
