A pub named after a famous cricketer has been sold.
The Burn Bullock, within the Cricket Green conservation area in Mitcham, Surrey, was renamed after a
Surrey cricketer, who was landlord from 1941-54, and brought many famous teams to play on the green opposite the pub.
The Burn Bullock is a three-storey detached property dating back to the 16th century. It is part Grade-II listed and retains a number of original features.
It comprises a main bar on the ground floor, a function room, a bar on the first floor and four-bedroom owners' accommodation.
The pub was one of the 727 houses formerly managed by the Spirit Group .
Chris Bickle of Christie+ Co's Epsom office said: "The Burn Bullock has been leased to an experienced operator with pubs in the north of London and the city, who has seen the potential in this established wet-led community business."
The Burn Bullock was sold on a new Punch retailer agreement lease for an undisclosed figure, from an asking price of £20,000 and an annual rent of £39,000.
