Even the best pub grub can be ruined by sub-standard sauce or cruddy condiments.

In a crusade for quality, Heinz Foodservice has created a Table Top community for the British pub sector, aimed at improving presentation, which in turn should improve consumer confidence in pub food.

Trials conducted by Heinz found that one in four outlets have seen an increase in food sales since making the change to Heinz and HP sauces, while eight out of 10 pubs believe stocking the sauces in the iconic glass bottles improves the look and feel of the dining area.

Table Top community is supported by a free merchandising kit which includes six chrome table top holder, each designed for a Heinz and HP bottle, as well as 125 napkins, 24 placemats, and 250 coasters

Claire Vaughan, senior brand manager for Heinz Foodservice sauce range, said: "We know that these two iconic brands are the preferred condiment offering when eating out of home, so it makes sense to create a bespoke promotion for our customers. When customers sign up to the community they will receive extra benefits, support and direct communication from Heinz.

"With the smoking ban looming, the pub sector is having to give even greater focus on food and to be successful in today's pub environment, every product served must be of the highest quality, to ensure customers come back for more.

"The merchandising kit for new customers is designed to help improve front of house presentation with recipes, news, special offers and rewards also available. We believe this will help people improve presentation and increase sales."
