Cooking oil brand Wesson Green is moving with the times, with redesigned packaging and a long life oil which meets consumer requirements for products perceived as healthier.

Brand owner ADM Pura has provided clear information about the properties of Wesson Green oils on redesigned packaging. The new long life oil satisfies specific industry and consumer requirements for non hydrogenated, low trans and low saturated fat products.

Wesson Green is ideal for deep and shallow frying and is available in a range of sizes from 5 litre bottle to 20 litre drum or bottle in box.

ADM Pura is also expanding the Wesson range with the launch of Wesson Supreme Long Life Oil, a new product specially formulated to overcome current concerns surrounding hydrogenated fats and trans fat products. Long life oils have traditionally contained hydrogenated fats to aid stability, while Wesson Supreme has been developed to provide a balanced nutritional profile and optimum stability with zero hydrogenated fat and virtually no trans fat.

Phil Hogan, director of global oils & fats research, ADM Oils & Fats, said: "Being able to offer healthier frying alternatives, which have the same properties as traditional fats, means that our customers are able to cater for current and future demands. Today, fried foods are often perceived in a negative light.

"By reducing the content of hydrogenated, saturated and trans fats, fried food providers can extend the appeal of their products while maintaining flavour, shelf life and quality."
