Bullers Arms, Landrake, Cornwall

Agent: Bettesworths

Ally and Michelle Yeoman have taken over the Bullers Arms at Landrake and decided to resurrect the famous Argyle Bar, which, in the past, was the popular stop-off point for football fans travelling up from Cornwall to watch Plymouth Argyle football matches, just over the border in Devon.

"As a keen footballer and Argyle supporter, I had no hesitation in re-opening this famous bar so that fans from all over Cornwall can enjoy some refreshment and a meal on the way to and from the Argyle matches," Ally explained.

"I have already managed to retrieve some of the Argyle bric-a-brac and will look to decorate the bar with appropriate photographs and memorabilia," he added.

The re-opening of the bar is just one of several new attractions that Ally and Michelle are instigating at the Bullers after buying the leasehold interest through Bettesworths from an asking price of £95,950.

They are planning curry and quiz nights, plus live entertainment on Saturdays, and to boost the popular catering side of the business will be allowing children to eat free, if accompanied by an adult dining at the pub. They are also planning to introduce a loyalty card for local customers.

Ally and Michelle previously ran two free-house pubs at nearby Torpoint. "We love the pub and the village, so once we heard the Bullers was on the market we went for it straight away," Ally explained.

The Bullers Arms is in the centre of Landrake and features two distinct trading areas; its popular restaurant and trade courtyard are complemented with plenty of parking space.
