First step into pub sector for Legacy
Legacy Hotels & Resorts has taken its first step into the pub market after re-opening the Symphony Bar in Liverpool, a former Provence Pub Company site that closed when the company went into administration in November last year.
Legacy Hotels and Resorts chief executive Andy Townsend, said the two-storey pub had been re-opened after a complete re-fit costing more than £80,000. He said: "The Symphony Bar is near John Moores University, Liverpool Community College and an arts centre, and is a favourite haunt of students.
"The kitchen has been re-fitted and we have bought new furniture, gaming machines, pool tables and a range of large televisions to screen all the latest sporting events, which are shown on Sky TV's Prem Plus.
"We are really pleased to have completed the renovations so quickly after agreeing to take over the management contract, as this is a slight departure from our core business of hotel management.
"The pub is in the heart of Liverpool's student quarter and we will open every day."
Free Wi-Fi is available at the Symphony Bar from the end of January and a total of 20 staff are being employed.
Legacy Hotels and Resorts also operates and manages Falcon Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire; Bramhall County Hotel, Manchester; Chesterfield Hotel, Chesterfield and Aston Court Hotel, Derby, both in Derbyshire; Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen, north Wales; Rose & Crown Hotel in Salisbury, Wiltshire and Springfield Hotel, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.
