Foodservice company 3663 is rolling out a Key Trading Days package to help pubs boost trade on special days - like Valentine's.

Marketing controller Catherine Hinchcliff said: "There are a few days every year when people don't need much persuasion to eat out. Mothering Sunday and Valentine's Day are two of the best. Then there's the middle ground - the kind of events that call for celebration but require encouragement - a reason to go out.

"This is where our Key Trading Days package really comes into its own. We have calculated that effectively marketing 11 key calendar events through the year could equate to an extra month's takings and profit."

3663 has combined modern recipes (with product codes to make ordering easy), with off-the-shelf products and hot beverage serving ideas. Chefs can either prepare a menu from scratch or order ready-made solutions. The pack also contains a CD of professionally designed menus, posters and table talkers - which caterers can customise on their own computers. There are also wall planners with key calendar events highlighted.

Catherine added: "We have focused on 11 separate occasions during the year, when it's possible to attract more customers and persuade them to increase their spend, and we have put together a practical, easy, fun way of taking advantage of the opportunity."
