Fleurets has promised "a new way of doing business" to accompany a new look for the chartered surveyor.

Following its rebranding under the new banner "a fresh approach", the company said it wants to ensure it remains relevant.

The move follows an external review that found some people saw Fleurets' approach as "old fashioned". The company wants to appeal to new pub executives who often don't have a background in the trade and don't know Fleurets.

Fleurets wants the relationship with clients to be a "joint venture", with the company more accessible to clients.

Executive director Yasser Martini said: "I think we're used to the view that the job was ours before it was [actually] ours. A lot of these guys said they didn't want to be told that it should be done this way."

Richard Negus, who heads up Fleurets' restaurant division, said: "We recognised the need to modernise, whilst holding true to our core values - integrity, client service and innovation."

The strategy is to help Fleurets continue its recent growth, following expansion in Leeds and Manchester in the past 18 months, and a new office in Brighton.

A new management structure has been put in place to push through the changes.

Former directors Martin Willis and Bill Graham have become joint managing directors. They form the executive committee alongside Martini, who also has responsibility for PR and marketing.

"The introduction of this new, three-man executive committee will allow the directors to spend time with their clients and be out in the market," said Martini.

The two newest directors have also been given specific responsibilities. Simon Hall will head-up the agency side and Graeme Bunn will lead the professional services division.

A new website and newspaper, called "On Market", accompanies the rebranding.
