Licensees Aaron Lynn and Anne and Alistair Dowson-Park are hoping for increased profits after being chosen for The Publican's Sell More Save More project.

The Hack & Spade in Whashton, near Richmond in North Yorkshire, will fly the flag for rural pubs, while the Foresters' Arms in Broseley, Shropshire will represent community pubs.

The name of the third pub, representing high-street bars, is being kept under wraps until next week as the licensee there is so new to the business he is only taking over this week!

Sell More, Save More will see a string of category champions, ranging from Diageo to Coca-Cola, visiting and advising the pubs over the course of the year - offering an example to the rest of the industry during one the most challenging years pubs will ever face.

Anne and Alistair moved down to the Hack & Spade six months ago after moving down from Scotland where they ran a small hotel.

Anne said: "This is a unique opportunity to work alongside people who have got lots of experience in these areas and know how to move a business like ours forward.

"We are really pleased to be a part of the project."

Aaron Lynn, licensee at the Foresters Arms in Broseley, Shropshire, said he was "over the moon" to be chosen for Sell More Save More. I hope it will really make a difference. All these companies know what they are about and we are really looking forward to working with them."

Readers will be able to follow the pubs' progress month by month in The Publican over the year ahead.
