Licensees of pubs and clubs in Yorkshire shouldn't be
surprised if they get paid a visit by England and Yorkshire cricket all-rounder Craig White. The Caledonian Brewing Company, brewers of Deuchars IPA, have crowned Craig, "brand ambassador" for Deuchars.
Craig's passion is not just confined to cricket. He has been known to enjoy the odd pint or two of the award-
winning Deuchars IPA, which is why Craig was a natural choice to hold the fort on behalf of former Yorkshire and England cricketer Gavin Hamilton, business development manager for Deuchars IPA, whilst Gavin flies out
to the West Indies to represent Scotland in the Cricket World Cup.
Craig said: "People who know me, know that I am a big real ale fan and my favourite tipple is Deuchars IPA. I like to keep busy during the
off-season and having been out on the road with the guys at Deuchars previously, I was keen to do it again.
"I'm out and about visiting existing and potential Deuchars stockists, which is rewarding and there is obviously a social side to it, so it's not too dissimilar to cricket.
"It's a great job and it's giving me invaluable experience in sales, for which I'm really grateful to the guys at Caley.
"It's really good fun being out and about in the pubs and invariably the subject turns to cricket.
"At the moment top of the agenda is England's performance in the Ashes unfortunately, but I'm hoping that will all change as the World Cup kicks off!"
Caledonian Brewing Company sales director Martin Kellaway said: "As a company we have really strong links with cricket.
"Two of our full-time employees are playing in Scotland's squad for the Cricket World Cup. We have an association with Yorkshire County Cricket Club as the official beer and many of our employees, such as former opening batsmen for Yorkshire Peter Squires, who worked at Caledonian for some time, have been involved with cricket in some form or another.
"We're delighted that Craig has agreed to work with us while Gavin is away and he'll be missed when he goes back to YCCC full-time in March."
