From the Salon Culinaire, featuring over 100 competitors across 30 competitions to La Parade des Chefs, where Michelin starred establishments will battle it out for Salon Gold, Hospitality 2007 has culinary competition covered. The Skillery, organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs will host a packed programme of demonstrations, whilst the Speciality Food & Drink Pavilion will feature new and regional ingredients to give that important difference to a menu.

The HCIMA free Small Business Seminars will give advice on everyday topics from marketing to IT, whilst the Design Showcase will provide examples of the very latest in design and contemporary styling. The BCFA Pavilion will bring together around a dozen suppliers with more unusual furniture designs, whilst the Spa area will provide the perfect platform to discover the benefits this facility can bring.

Hospitality will also host the regional finals of the UK Barista Championships on the Wednesday of the show and will have a dedicated tea lounge for that much needed refreshment.

Catering Equipment

There are over 100 stands at the show dedicated to catering equipment and Hospitality 2007 provides the ideal opportunity to test, source or even buy a wide range of products. With such difficult decisions, CEDA (Stand 1472) will be on hand to highlight what pubs should look for when purchasing equipment. The stand will welcome members, potential members as well as end users looking for the services of a professional distributor.

The Enodis UK Food Service Group (1549) will demonstrate its full range of brands including Frymaster, Garland and MerryChef, whilst also highlighting the brand new Convotherm Mini - a combination steam oven that boasts all the benefits of the larger models but in a far smaller footprint.

Combination cooking will also be the focus for Rational (1361) who will unveil the latest upgrades to the SelfCooking Centre, which now include new cooking modes and improvements to the Overnight cooking and LevelControl functions. The new features will be put through their paces as the machine is demonstrated live on stand.

Live cooking will also be the focal point for Jestic Foodservice Equipment (1440) whose own demonstration chef will highlight the Bakers Pride deck oven, the Middleby Marsh conveyor oven as well as the Wood Stone gas Bistro. Cooking of a different fashion will be the focus for Profile Catering Equipment (1620) who will launch their new 'Vision' bake and display oven at the show. Designed to bridge the gap between functionality and flair the product can cook sixty 8oz potatoes in under an hour and is ideal for front of house service.

BKI Europe (1672) will launch a new-line of kitchen equipment for the professional caterer. The new Zenith brand, which will include commercial hobs, grills, chargrills and griddles, has been designed to be attractive, ergonomic and practical. In addition a new pasta cooker that claims to cook frozen filled pasta in just 90 seconds will also be on show. If you are looking for the latest in microwave technology, the 180T model from AWI (1519) boasts a touch programmable control pad, a glass inner door and can be easily stacked with other models.

Stand 1448 will see Cater-Kwik highlight itsr full range of equipment from double door fridges to pizza ovens and griddles, whilst for chefs that specialise in sous vide and low temperature cooking, Clifton Food Range (1573) will highlight a range of water baths along with accompanying accessories including chamber dividers and temperature probes. Sharing the stand will be Multi-vac, manufacturers of vacuum packing equipment. Grills are also the theme for Silesia UK (1305) as they demonstrate their Velox Grills, which offer healthy, natural and safe high speed cooking without any sacrifice in quality.

Buffet Enhancements (1327) will highlight the New Age Chafing dish with glass lid, said to be the best thing to happen to chafers since canned heat, as well an American chocolate fountain to give added interest to wedding parties and special events.

If you want to get food or drink cold, rather than hot, then Cthru Solutions (1633) will use Hospitality to highlight the super cool ICE range that includes revolutionary new lines such as the Static Butler. ITV (1461) will also display ar new line of Gala Ice Machines, which eradicate lime build up through the use of a semi elastic spray nozzle. And, what better drink to chill with the ice than fresh juice created with the range of high quality commercial juicing and blending equipment from UK Juicers (1422). BarOlympic (1636) will also be relaunched at the show and will showcase a complete range of back bar equipment.

There is nothing worse than unclean crockery and to avoid such disasters Classeq will unveil the new Hydro 850 pass-through warewasher on stand 1330. Developed to deliver the best washing performance in its class, it also boasts very low water consumption and power usage making it ideal for small to medium sized outlets. For clean glasses rather than plates, Hobart (1219) will display their award winning ASGW25C glasswasher as well as the A200 Planetary Mixer, both of which were crowned top of their class in the prestigious Excellence in Equipment Awards.

Cleanliness of a different kind will be the focus for Scotmas (1564) who will educate visitors about their range of Legionella, Winter Sickness and grease removal programmes which will ensure a clean bill of health for the venue, whilst WPL's (1569) Grease Guzzler will provide visitors with an environmentally friendly solution to grease problems through their 'fit and forget' automated grease management system.

Aluline (1636) will highlight their new Coffee Catcher filter solution that has recently provided Costa Coffee with a resolution to the problem of blocked drains. As a result it will be included in all new Costa outlets.

If insects continue to be a problem within your kitchen or dining area then Insect-O-Cutor (1629) has two new solutions. The Cryonite which uses carbon dioxide to literally freeze insects, and Alert24 which is a remote rodent monitoring system that alerts you to the activity within your premises. To remove nasty smells, rather than rodents then the Gaylord Ultima Vent kitchen ventilator utilises the latest in UV technology and a combined automatic internal 'wash-water' system for the manufacturers to claim it to be one of the most efficient vents available.

Bunzl Lockhart Catering Equipment (1237) will exhibit the latest designs in tableware and kitchen equipment as well as a selection of environmentally friendly disposable and cleaning products. Visitors to the stand will also have the chance to win a set of Steelite 'Organics' tableware for six settings. The first knife sharpener for both smooth and serrated blades will be available at the show from Vulkanus (1268) whilst Avery Weigh-Tronix (1336) will be show their new Berkel Premier and Futura meat slicers which deliver increased cutting capacity in a smaller footprint, whilst cutting cleaning time in half.

Getting the correct temperature for food should never be hit or miss so visit Comark, (1465) specialists in temperature and humidity monitoring, who will highlight their hand held C20 series of thermometers which are IP67 rated for exceptional accuracy. Testo (1414) will also reveal their virtually unbreakable 106 thermometer, ideal for quick uncomplicated core temperature checks for all food types.
