I want to add food to my pub's offer but only if I can provide high-quality meals with healthy choices for my customers. I have no extra space and need reliable equipment to ensure that if we offer food, it will be there when our customers want it.

I have helped design many pub menus. Most clients are amazed to find they can offer a wide variety of meals that are easy to prepare and serve within three to four minutes.

A number of pubs work with one or two Merrychef EC403 ovens. These compact units will fit into a very small kitchen and they include a catalytic converter so no ventilation is required. The insulated design means that the units are almost silent and are cool to touch - perfect for a busy pub kitchen.

The Merrychef EC403 oven is one example of accelerated cooking technology: products that enable you to prepare hot meals up to 10 times faster than conventional ovens and still provide great food.

We often work with the owner or chef to create a complete menu. The cooking requirements can be programmed into the Merrychef oven, then any member of staff can cook a perfect meal at the press of a button.

One simple menu includes seven hot starters, 10 hot mains, three hot desserts and three cold ones. All items can be prepared in less than four minutes. There are standard favourites such as a hot chicken sandwich, as well as a healthy salmon salad. This easy menu does not require specialised cooking skills but allows the pub to retain its clients through the lunch and dinner periods.
