Leicestershire brewer Everards is to extend its Support Your Local campaign nationwide.

Now called Supporting Your Local, the campaign will offer all kinds of business support to all Everards beer stockists across the UK.

Support for licensees ranges from cellar training, to point of sale material to a human resources helpline to assist with staff issues.

Support Your Local was originally launched in January 2004 in an effort by Everards to support its brewery and all of its heartland pubs with mini "support your pub" and "support your local" campaigns run across its estate.

It proved to be very successful, with double digit growth seen in Everards ale brands in the 12 months following the launch.

However, the company was well aware the campaign would mean less to pubs outside of its heartland and so took the decision to extend it nationally.

David Bremner, marketing director at Everards, said: "Everards is dedicated to supporting our pubs and stockists of our brands and it really will be a pleasure to help as many pubs as possible. You never know, when some of these licensees see how good we are they may even want to take a pub with us!"

Any licensee who is interested can phone or email Everards and choose from a range of support material which includes:

  • Passion for Excellence - access to Everards' three-tier cellar training programme, part of which is BII accredited
  • Point of sale support - access to bar towels, drip mats and posters to display
  • Brewery tour - an opportunity to visit Everards to have a look round and sample the whole range with your customers
  • Meet the brewer nights - Everards' brewers can come and see you to explain the brewing process and run a tutored tasting
  • Sales development visit - Everards' reps can come and discuss ideas for growth of your cask ale sales
  • Fantastic Serve - access to Everards' bar-staff training programme which is suitable for anyone customer-facing
  • Quality help line - 24/7 access to our Quality Assurance Manager to help with any beer quality questions.
