Name: Tom Kerridge

Born: 27 July 1973, Gloucestershire

Experience: Tom's first kitchen job was in 1991 as a commis chef at Calcot Manor in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, which at the time had one Michelin star under head chefs Ramon Farthing and Alec Howard. Between March 1992 and January 1996, he worked as a chef de partie at the Painswick Hotel

and the Country Elephant, both 2 AA-rosette restaurants in Gloucestershire.

Tom's first London job was as chef de partie at the Michelin-starred Capital Hotel, where he worked for eight months. Between August 1996 and January 1999, he was sous chef at Stephen Bull's celebrated 3 AA-rosette restaurant in St Martin's Lane, where John Bentham was head chef.

He went on to work under Bentham again as sous chef at Gary Rhodes' Rhodes In The Square before short spells at Odettes,

Bellamy's Dining Room, Great Fosters Hotel in Surrey and Monsieur Max, where he worked for almost two years under Alex Bentley.

Tom took his first head-chef position in June 2003 at Norwich restaurant Adlard's, where he gained a Michelin star and scored a rating of six in the Good Food Guide.

He left Adlard's in January 2005 to set up the Hand & Flowers, which opened in March this year.
