A 250-year-old pub that has featured in the popular television soap Peak Practice is up for grabs in the picturesque Peak District National Park, Derbyshire.

The historic Miner's Arms, which is on Miner's Hill in Brassington, has been owned and operated by lessees Clint and Sandie Purcocks for three successful years.

'Brassington, which has been featured in Peak Practice, was once at the heart of lead mining country - hence the name of the pub,' said Kieran Petersen, of Christie & Co's Nottingham office.

'The Miner's Arms attracts a strong local trade and tourist trade from all over the Peak District due to its beautiful location, charm, character and an enviable reputation for quality home-cooked food, traditional Sunday lunches and cask-conditioned ales.'

One of only two remaining pubs in the village, the Miner's Arms was built in 1734 and extended in 1882. Having undergone sympathetic restoration, it retains much of its original character.

The stone-built property has a public bar and non-smoking bar, a catering kitchen and self-contained, five-bedroom owner's accommodation on the first and second floors. Outside there is a car park and a patio beer garden.

'The pub originally had its own brewhouse and was part of the Manor of Brassington. A full list of landlords and landladies exists from 1808 to 1996,' said Petersen.

'There is an award-winning garden which has been featured on television and in the Good Food Guide and Country Life magazine. It was also recently entered for the Camra Good Beer Guide.'

Christie & Co is seeking offers in the region of £93,000 for the remainder of a 21-year lease which commenced in December 2002.
