Continuing our series on the rich and famous who enjoy their food
Name: Homer Simpson
"Born": The Simpsons first aired in 1990.
Everyone's favourite yellow dad loves to eat. Throughout his life, Homer's appetite has given him a heart attack, had him fired and caused more than a few problems with Marge.
In fact, in one Hallowe'en episode Homer is so hungry, he tries to eat himself.
But the stoical baldy always comes back for another Krusty
burger.
Phrases like "Mmm, donuts" and "Pork chops!" as well as the gargling noise he makes when he salivates, can be heard in eating establishments all over the world.
Homer's regular haunts include Moe's Tavern, Greasy Joe's Bar-B-Q Pit, Gulp 'N' Blow, and the Frying Dutchman - where he became famous on an "All You Can Eat" night for almost
eating the place out of business. His picture remains on the wall, bearing the legend: "Bottomless Pete: Nature's Cruellest Mistake".
Homer has his own cookware range - including barbecue sets, crockery and speaking bottle openers. Not to mention Simpsons' food products.
The Institute of Physics took the time to estimate Mr Simpson's fat intake at 130 grams a day - that's nearly 50 grams more than they recommend.
And so it seems even a cartoon character isn't above blame.
A survey by supermarket chain Somerfield revealed that 59% of parents believe Homer promotes unhealthy eating habits.
However, it was also revealed that one in six of the eight to 12-year-old in the survey think broccoli is a baby tree. And that's hardly Homer's fault.
