Union Pub Company celebrates with 4th annual awards
The Union Pub Company (UPC), the tenanted arm of Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, hosted its annual Pub Of The Year awards ceremony last night at Alton Towers.
Awards at the ceremony, UPC's fourth, were presented to the winners by UPC managing director Stephen Oliver.
Fourteen trophies were up for grabs including Pub of the Year, which went to Cary's Wine Bar in Derby and Training pub of the Year, sponsored by The Publican, which was won by The Fountain Inn in Clent, Stourbridge.
The Fountain Inn won three awards in total, including Customer service pub of the Year.
The Lifetime Achievement award went to Richard and Sue Grandjean of former Burtonwood pub the George in Alstonefield, Derbyshire.
Hosting the black tie event was TV presenter Nick Owen.

- Wine retailer of the Year: Blenheim House, Etwall
- Garden/floral display of the Year: Prince Of Wales, Glossop
- Bar person of the Year: Alyx Ross, Cary's Wine Bar, Derby
- Entrepreneur of the Year: The Duke Of Portland, Northwich
- Training pub of the Year: The Fountain Inn, Glent
- Community pub of the Year: The Brook Meadow, Shard End, Birmingham
- Food pub of the year: The Wollaston Inn, Wellingborough
- Responsible retailer of the Year: The Fountain Inn, Glent
- Customer service pub of the Year: The Fountain Inn, Glent
- Family pub of the Year: The Gate Inn, Branston, Burton-On-Trent
- Cask ale pub of the Year: Hawk & Buckle, Etwall
- Pub of the Year: Cary's Wine Bar (pictured).
