The Manor Inn at Cockerham in Lancaster has re-opened following a substantial refurbishment.

World class jockey, Frankie Dettori, was guest of honour, and proudly pulled the first pint at the re-opening on 6 August.

Former Emmerdale and Bad Girls actress, Clare King, and Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar Hamann also attended the event.

The Manor Inn, which dates back to the 1600s, has undergone an extensive refurbishment, including the creation of an upstairs sports bar.

The pub will be run by former jockey, Johnny Carroll and his wife Tracy, along with business partner, Craig Wilkinson who also runs the Bay Horse at Forton.

The Manor serves good quality home-cooked pub food, sourced from local suppliers, has an excellent selection of wines by the glass and a great selection of cask ales.

Mark Wolstencroft, tenanted trade business development manager for Mitchell's of Lancaster, said: 'The Manor has undergone a refurbishment with a joint investment of £130,000.

'This is in line with the company's strategy of investing within our tenanted estate.

Wolstencroft added: 'I wish Tracey, John and Craig every success.
