SFI administrators PwC have closed eight more sites of the collapsed bar group, bringing the total number of shuttered outlets to 26.

Following the announcement from PwC earlier this week that it had closed 18 outlets formerly operated by SFI, which ran the Litten Tree, Slug & Lettuce and Bar Med chains among others, it today revealed a further eight closures, bringing the total job losses currently to 332.

The news comes after PwC revealed that it has had more than 100 expressions of interest in the remaining 26 sites which are still trading.

Joint administrator and PwC director David Chubb told thePublican.com he was hopeful he would not have to close the remaining outlets while they were engaged in considering the merits of potential buyers.

"We've had no time to evaluate the quality of these enquiries but we are confident that there are a few good ones in there," said Mr Chubb.

It would take time to consider and respond to these, he added, and he remained hopeful the 26 outlets currently trading would continue to do so for the time being.

Sites closed are:

Litten Tree: Barnstaple, Braintree, Burnley, Camberley, Colwyn Bay, Croydon, Macclesfield, Northampton, Reading, Slough, Staines and Swindon

Bar Med: Bristol, Cheltenham, Birmingham (Corporation Street and Star City branches), Croydon, Harrogate, Leeds, Liverpool and Oxford

Slug & Lettuce: Glasgow, Kingston and Milton Keynes

Persia: Manchester

Havana: Glasgow
