The new owners of the Flying Horse in the Wordsworth area of Taunton are keen to establish a family-orientated community pub.
Gwendolyn Reeve and Derek Nicholson will be running the Somerset-based business with Gwendolyn's son and daughter-in-law Graham and Jo Reeve.
"Gwendolyn is an accomplished chef with over 20 years in the catering business," said Paul Reilly of Stonesmith in Exeter.
"She has already introduced a new menu to the pub. This is all made a lot easier since the installation of a new catering kitchen. The aim, along with continued improvements, is to make the Flying Horse into a friendly, family, community pub."
He added that the family had also increased the sports teams and now runs three pool, six skittles and three darts teams along with a Sunday football team.
The detached building has lawned gardens to the front, side and rear with parking for 25 cars on the other side.
The main entrance leads to a central bar servery which is split up into three distinct zones including a sports and dining/ lounge area. Doors lead to the skittle alley function room and an internal trade courtyard/children's play area.
The Flying Horse was sold for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £55,000 for the leasehold. The vendors were Darren and Diane Harrison.
