Jamie Oliver's campaign for healthier children's food has got parents thinking more about the quality of food their children are eating. Do you plan to introduce any healthier menu options for kids?

Pedro Aparicio, licensee/chef, the Canal Inn, Wrantage, Somerset

"We've never had a separate kid's menu, but serve smaller portions from our main menu. We lost a few customers initially, but in the long run we've benefited, as many parents are coming round to this way of thinking. If you put chips in front of a child they'll eat it. Now we get seven-year-olds ordering rare fillet or langoustines."

Amanda Digney, licensee, the King William, Bath, Avon

"We believe that children should eat what their parents eat, at the same table and at the same time, although we don't enforce this on our customers! We encourage children to have smaller portions from our menu but as a local pub we sometimes get requests for alternatives, which we accommodate. At the moment we have spring vegetable risotto, which is popular with children and rib of beef to share. On Sunday a family came in, ordered two and shared them."

Chris Jewell, licensee, the Stackpole Inn, Stackpole, Pembrokeshire

"No, we don't plan any changes. We have always served smaller portions of dishes from our main menu, so children have always been able to have good quality, home-cooked food here. We do put on some naff options, which some parents and children insist upon, but it's not our desire to serve this type of food."

Mark Iverson, head chef, the Lydden Bell, Lydden, nr Dover, Kent

"We do serve the dreaded chicken nuggets but also smaller versions from our main menu: the small Sunday roast is very popular. During the week sausages - we serve Kent Corkers, which are a local, good-quality sausage - are popular, also fresh tagliatelle and spaghetti. We've noticed lately that the kids seem to be weaning themselves off the nuggets and fish fingers and the mini dishes are more popular. Whether that's a result of the campaign I don't know."
