Snifter would like to congratulate Cardiff pub manager Ian Morgan, who showed real compassion when his pub was burgled.
Morgan discovered bungling burglar Jason Cachia collapsed on the stairs at the Wellington pub on the Hayes.
The drunken 24-year-old had apparently fallen as he tried to flee the pub with a DVD player and computer from the flat above the pub. But instead of lashing out, Morgan, 25, from Penarth, did the honourable thing and put Cachia in the recovery position and brought him a glass of water.
The manager said: "He was screaming in agony and he said his leg was really hurting. I told him he was lucky that he didn't break his leg, especially with all the weight he was carrying.
"I made him more comfortable before calling the police. I couldn't just ignore his injury I'm in the hospitality trade after all."
Cardiff Crown Court heard last week that Cachia, of Splott, couldn't remember anything about the incident. He said he had drunk 12 pints of lager before he fell down the stairs.
Cachia pleaded guilty toburglary and was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid community work.
