Pubwatch licensee banned from local pubs for six months
A pubwatch in Cheshire has slapped one of its own members with a six-month pub ban and discluded her from the organisation following a complaint.
Fellow licensees of Frodsham & Helsby Pubwatch voted unanimously to ban Cholmondeley Arms host and Pubwatch veteran Pamela Quinn from all member pubs. It follows an alleged incident at the Red Lion in Frodsham on 10 April.
Chairman of the Pubwatch, Frank Golledge, of the Amore Bar, confirmed a ban had been dished out to Quinn.
"As with everything in Pubwatch the details are confidential," he said.
"The fact that it is one of our own makes it even more sensitive. I don't want to turn it into a slanging match and do not want to prejudice people against her pub. It is a bit awkward for us but I feel most for the individual that made the complaint."
Golledge said Quinn had the right to appeal against the decision at the next meeting in a month's time. He added: "She already told us she did not want to be part of the Pubwatch, which is surprising as it is a very large and successful scheme. Only two other pubs are not members." Quinn denies any wrongdoing.
