A Lancashire pub that has been the target of "ghost busters" searching for evidence of a haunting is up for grabs.
The Sun Inn, set in the village of Chipping, is locally-famed for its reputation as a haunted pub after the tragic death of a barmaid in the 19th century.
Lizzie Dean has allegedly haunted the pub since hanging herself in 1835, after seeing her sweetheart get married to another woman. She also put a curse upon their future children.
"This leasehold public house, which is associated with the tragic death of Lizzie Dean, could be the catalyst for a new life for someone interested in living with a haunting legend," said Sean Hartley, of Christie & Co's Manchester office.
He added that apart from the ghostly drawcard, the inn featured a good reputation for food, thanks to its current owners, Jan and Steve Hasleden.
"It is renowned for its culinary delights as the legendary pie and peas with real gravy is the dish many walkers travel from near and far to sample
The vendors said: "Were it not for other concerns, we would never consider leaving the inn as we have built such an enjoyable rapport with the village.
"In fact, we like the area so much, upon selling the business, we will become customers ourselves."
The property has a traditional stone exterior "that fits well with the homely atmosphere inside".
The interior is dominated by a roaring real fire near the bar, which is popular during winter.
Christie & Co is seeking £150,000 for the leasehold interest in the business.
