Hydes Brewery, the Manchester based brewer and pub retailer, is looking to invest in accommodation in its pubs. It has kicked off its new strategy by starting work on a 35-bedroom lodge at the Coach and Four in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

The Coach and Four, which has traded for two years, is one of the company's traditional high quality pubs, Heritage Inns.

The pub will have part of its large car park developed to house the lodge, bringing much needed accommodation to the centre of Wilmslow.

Marketing director David Safiruddin said: "The business potential at the Coach and Four is tremendous as it's in such a great location and we are delighted to be able to take advantage of this by constructing these new facilities. We are confident that it will quickly become the town's leading value-based hotel, which will bring with it renewed commercial benefits for local businesses."
