JDW fires up January sale

JD Wetherspoon is holding a January sale on 11 of its menu dishes.

The 16-day sale, during which the dishes are being offered at a reduced price, runs to 19 January.

Drinks are also included in the promotion including Marston's Pedigree, Foster's, Deuchars IPA, red and white wine, Pepsi and cappuccino. Among the offers is a pint of Carling, Guinness or Pedigree for £1.49.

Wetherspoon commercial director Suzanne Baker said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so we thought it would be a good idea to have one in our pubs too."

Dishes included in the two-for-£5 sale are Caesar salad, spaghetti bolognese, sausage, chips and beans, fish and chips, vegetarian five bean chilli, chilli con carne, vegetarian burger, plaice and chips, cottage pie and chips, chicken burger and lasagne.

Hospitality staff stressed'

Working in the hospitality sector causes many sleepless nights, according to a new report.

The study by training organisation Foundation Degrees found that of 1,000 hospitality workers polled, 26% said they woke up at night worrying about their jobs.

One in eight said they never managed to unwind from work and that it was always on their mind.

Nearly two-thirds said it took them an hour each day to unwind from the stresses of their workplace.
