An historic South Wales Inn will be restored to its former glory as part of a £350,000 refurbishment project.
The Dulais Rock at Aberdulais near Neath, which dates back to the mid 17th century, is set to be transformed with new and improved facilities.
As part of the renovation, Punch plans to create a new split level, 50 seat à la carte restaurant serving a range of freshly prepared meals. The bar will be split into three areas, each with its own distinct atmosphere, and all furnished with antique wood, leather furniture and real open fires.
A choice of lighter snacks such as Italian style Panini bread will be on offer all day and there will also be a bar menu available. The refurbishment also includes three letting bedrooms.
New licensee John Peace has teamed up with Punch on the project. He said: "The Dulais Rock is a magnificent old inn, which with this significant investment and great staff will once again be a real asset to the local community.
"The aim is to cater for a wide variety of customers who will be attracted by the new facilities, superb service levels and outstanding quality of food on offer. All of our produce will be sourced locally so it's not only good news for visitors but also suppliers in the area as well."
