2 David and Simon Reuben (£2,200m):
The property billionaires have a small stake in a group of pubs operated by Spirit Group.
3 Mark Pears and family (£800m): Pears, 41, was part of the partnership that helped fund the £57m acquisition of 252 pubs from Punch by London & Edinburgh Inns last December.

The Guinness family: (£725m): The family still hold a substantial stake in Guinness, now part of Diageo.
5 Trevor Hemmings (£700m): Hemmings, 48, holds a £153m stake in Scottish & Newcastle and bought the Branigans chain last year.

The Grant family (£420m): Owns William Grant and Sons, the distiller of Glenfiddich malt, which made a profit of nearly £61m on sales of £322m last year.
