Carling has launched a TV advertising campaign to promote sensible drinking.
The campaign, which airs across Scottish TV channels from Friday 19th December, unites Celtic and Rangers managers Martin O'Neill and Alex McLeish to deliver the hard-hitting message to Scottish drinkers.
In the adverts Martin O'Neill advises drinkers to 'try not to hit the bar too often', while Alex McLeish says 'if you're going to chat someone up, it helps if you can speak'.
Mark Hunter, marketing and international development director of Coors said: "As a responsible company, Coors is actively involved in programmes to promote sensible drinking. "We believe our sponsorship of Celtic and Rangers provides additional avenues to deliver this important message and the campaign is just one way we will be demonstrating this as we work with the clubs over the next three seasons." Carling worked closely with the Scottish Health Executive and Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS)to ensure that its ads complement existing campaigns and supports the Scottish Alcohol Strategy.
Jack Law, chief executive of Alcohol Focus Scotland, said: "Successfully tackling Scotland's binge drinking culture is everyone's responsibility, and that includes the drinks industry as well as AFS and the Scottish Executive. Carling and the Old Firm have added a powerful voice to the campaign for sensible drinking."
