Handmade food manufacturer Bigham's has scooped a top prize at a national awards ceremony.
The company's Mediterranean chicken pocket wrapped in parma ham was named best product in the meat, game, poultry and fish category at the first Catering Update Excellence in Food and Drink awards. Its salmon en croute was also a finalist in the category.
The other winners at the awards, which were held on November 7, were:

- Bakery and sandwiches - Bakehouse chocolate and hazelnut croquante
- Cheese, dairy and milk products - Kitchen Range Foods goat's cheese bites
- Confectionery - Delifrance luxury mignardises
- Desserts and puddings - Schöller Mövenpick panna cotta rhubarb ice cream
- Hot beverages - Nestlé Nescafé cappuccino
- Children's - Masterfoods M&Ms ice cream
- Ready meals - Emile Tissot chilli con carne and rice
- Soft drinks - Abbey Well PET Fatboy still mineral water
- Vegetarian - KK Fine Foods Mediterranean vegetable and spinach lasagne.
