The stamina of eight of Unique's finest hikers was severely tested recently in the remote Peak District. They were trekking 35km over 15 peaks in just 48 hours for the Macmillan Peaks Challenge and raised £8,000. Glen Holburt, regional operations director at Unique, took part in the challenge and said: "We were happy to put the effort in for such a worthy cause and the training during the preceding weeks definitely paid off, as we all successfully completed the course. "We were blessed with some superb weather and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, although it was great to get back to a decent bed on Sunday night after two nights' camping." Emily Dodson, of Macmillan, said that the challenge had attracted a total of 36 hikers from a variety of corporate sponsors. "They were terrific company and, teamed with amazing scenery, made it a fantastic weekend. It was a real challenge and we all have extremely sore feet, but it was well worth every last mile. In total the challenge raised £20,000." "I'm delighted that every penny we raise for Macmillan will be used to fund vitally needed cancer services right across the UK.
