Frognel Hall looks out for fresh faces

The Exeter office of agent Christie & Co has been appointed to handle the sale of Frognel Hall Hotel, a 27-bedroom Victorian mansion house hotel in Higher Woodfield Road, Torquay, Devon.

The current proprietors have operated the hotel for eight years but now wish to enter into a new business venture with their family.

Christie & Co is seeking £795,000 for the freehold interest.

Frognel Hall Hotel is situated in a tranquil corner of Torquay, within easy reach of the town centre, harbour and beaches.

The property is Grade-II listed and was built as a privateresidence in around 1840.

The owners have taken care to preserve many of the original Victorian features whilst maintaining excellent modern-day standards with a continuing programme of investment.

The hotel has been awarded a 2-star rating from the AA and English Tourism Council.

It is styled as a "country house hotel in the town", and comprises 27 en suite letting bedrooms, reception hall, drawing/function room, bar, 65-cover restaurant, kitchen, games room, gardens including croquet lawn and putting green, and a car park.

The owner's accommodation comprises a large studio room with balcony and views over the bay.

Frognel Hall Hotel caters for private individuals, good-quality coaching holidays, groups and associations.

The owners also arrange special weekends such as murder-mystery breaks.

Christie & Co says the hotel has an excellent restaurant and received a Bay Award for healthy eating.
