A freehold licensed restaurant in the historic Cotswold market town of Malmesbury, North Wiltshire, has become available through agents Christie & Co. The Med Restaurant is located opposite the town centre car park at 2a Silver Street. It has been placed on the market with the Bristol office of Christie's at an asking price of £175,000 for the freehold interest. Owner Sally Marks purchased the restaurant two years ago and ceased trading a year later in order to pursue other business interests. Malmesbury is an ancient market town with a wealth of historic stone buildings, including the 12th-century Abbey. The town today is a prosperous commercial centre. The Med has a 50-cover restaurant spread over ground and first floor, bar and kitchen. The main restaurant has stripped pine flooring and a brick fireplace with woodburner. Ringing the Bell The Bell at Cretingham, near Woodbridge in Suffolk, has new owners. Sue Knight and partner Nick run a fishing boat from Southwold Harbour so unsurprisingly fresh fish, including shell fish, is now on the menu on a daily basis. In the kitchen is son Lee, who is the former head chef at the nearby Blyth Hotel. The business was sold by Britannia Business Sales of Diss off an asking price of £365,000.
