Yeovil takes tough stance Drinkers in Yeovil who are arrested for alcohol-related violence could soon see themselves banned from pubs across the Somerset town.
Yeovil Police and the local Pubwatch scheme said that they hope the new measure will help cut late-night violence.
Pubs included in the scheme will be given names and photographs of anyone arrested for alcohol-related offences.
Bans will last for up to one year.
People will be able to appeal to Pubwatch to have the ban lifted but no appeal has yet been successful.
Sergeant Steve Christopher of Yeovil police called the initiative "a good example of Pubwatch and the police working together".
He said: "People need to realise that if they get drunk and cause problems in Yeovil they will be banned from all the pubs in the scheme.
