Acting on behalf of the Unique Pub Company, the Newcastle office of agents Christie & Co has sold the Earl of Warwick pub in Chapel Street, West Auckland, near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, to Deeprun Ltd. The Earl of Warwick was sold as part of a group disposal of public houses, which Christie & Co is handling due to a strategic review of Unique's national estate. The Earl of Warwick has been sold for an undisclosed figure, from an asking price of £120,000 for the freehold interest. The Earl of Warwick has a main bar/lounge to seat 70 customers with two fireplaces, darts throw area, exposed stone walls and bar servery. There is also a cellar, three-bedroom owner's accommodation and a rear yard. Globe up for grabs After 13 years of ownership, publican Helena McLean has placed the Globe, in the town of Raunds, near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, on the market through the Milton Keynes office of agents, Christie & Co. An asking price of £220,000 is sought for the remaining six years of the current 20-year, free-of-tie lease, with a current rent of £27,000 per annum. Alternatively, the freeholder may be willing to offer a new 20-year lease.
